Faulty cheap car , After 30 days do i have any rights

I have bought a Vauxhall Astra 1600 estate for £600 back in November. It has been an intermittent starter ever since with the first incident a few days after the purchase. Initially I thought it was just old age and had the coil pack replaced. It has broken down three times since and a diagnostic and a google search has revealed a probable fault in the insulation of the security system. This a well known fault fo this type of astra. It's not really worth repairing as the part is £300 from vauxhall and then the keys have to be recoded. Even an aftermarket part is £100 and then there is recoding.

Do I have any rights or have I left it too log?

I bought itfrom a small motor repair company who sells a few cars as well.

Yes you do have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Up till 6 months you have the right to ask them to repair a defect, they have to be given one chance. It is assumed that the defect was present when the car was bought unless the trader can show otherwise. If you can show that thisis a known defect then so much the better.

Thank you ostellI will check the date of purchase and then give him his chance. Better than scrapping the car. Ended up a week past the six months. Then it broke down again so we got rid of it . Was told by buyer that it was the crankshaft timing sensor.
