  • Extended Driving Test after ban

    Hi,

I was banned from driving for 12 months on a DD40 (Scotland) and my ban is due to run out on the 20/05 of this year. As per the law in this country I'm required to take the theory and extended driving test again.

My question is do I need to wait until the 20/05 before I can apply for my provisional again or can I pre-apply before that date?

Do I also have to wait until the 20/05 before I can apply for the theory test or can this be pre-booked nearer the date?

    Many thanks

You can reapply for your licence before your disqualification period ends. DVLA will send you a D27 renewal form: 56 days before your disqualification ends. 90 days before your disqualification ends if you're a high risk offender .https://www.gov.uk/reapply-licence-revoked

You cannot apply to take the theory test until you have a provisional licence (so if your licence arrives before it is in force you should be able to apply for the test then for a date after 20/05)

    good luck!

      Hi Dazzazeus,
Here's a link to the Gov't site about DVLA. I'm not certain the same rules apply in Scotland so you may need to check but it appears you can apply before the end of the disqualification in some instances:- https://www.gov.uk/reapply-licence-revoked
