    Hi everyone,

I知 looking for some advice on some problems I知 having with my sons insurer around NCD.

He took out a policy with Hastings on 5/7/18 his previous insurance expired on the 27/7/2018 earning 4 years NCD. As his old car was sold into the trade we let his insurance run to completion.

On providing Hastings with proof of 4 years NCD they wouldn稚 accept because the overlap between the start date and the day the NCD was gained on was more than 14 days ( lesson learnt)

I then asked if they would take the 4 years as proof 3 but without responding they removed a further 」589 from my account

Having spoken to them they said they would need to see proof 3 years NCD (earned on the 27/07/2017) which I sent this morning. This has also been rejected because there has been a gap in cover!! When I pointed out that they have evidence of cover from 27/07/2017 (3 years NCD) and the start of his cover with Hastings (4 years NCD) they said it was inadmissible as the dates overlap !!!!!

I致e opened a complaint with Hastings and the FCA but any thoughts or advice on this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    George
