Hi people,
Merry Xmas and I hope you all have a good New Year. :santa3:
Ok so on Xmas Eve we got a letter through from Bristow & Sutor "Council Tax Notice Of Issue Of Liability Order. Information Preliminary to Distress."
I think this is for our current tax year. No long story short, we had a bill from 2 years ago that we are currently paying to them every 4 weeks at £50 this was agreed through the local council after I spoke with them when B & S were demanding too much and we couldn't afford it. So we have a good payment history.
Now this years was paid halfway through the year by the Benefits Agency because I was un-employed, since going into employment I have not been able to pay any of the Council Tax off due to being on a low income (I earn just above what we received in benefits), but it is a job all the same. Surely we have until the end of this tax year to pay the bill anyway? It's not like they haven't had any of it at all.
My plan is to speak with the Council and ask that they take back the claim after all as I say we have a good track record paying small amounts.
What do you guys suggest?
