  • Title deed restriction

Hi all. I have a restriction on my title deed saying that I need to obtain a 'certificate of compliance' from a company every time I want to remortgage. Personally I think this is an extortionate thing to do and is costing me 175 (for the certificate which last time wasn't even personalised and was literally a letter headed paper saying that I had told them of the change) and then the solicitors 180 to ask them for it.

is there any way to contest this or get it removed from the deed? Surely this is just a way for them to extort money from us at a time when we are trying to save.
