    Thanks for the update.
Basically you have done what was advised early on ie install own drainage.
Are your insurers now going to remedy the damage to your property?

Except my neighbour's disputed ownership of the land I have located my remedy on so I could do nothing until I had sufficient evidence that they were in the wrong and squatting. In the event I just told them I was dropping my claim and what I was going to do to protect my property; if they didn't like it, seek an injunction and that has to be coupled with full proceedings and I set out the likely costs. They chose to do nothing not surprisingly and I have refused to sign a settlement agreement so I can raise their delinquent behaviour if there are court proceedings in the future.

As for claiming for the damage caused on my insurance, the company chose not to renew my policy in September, citing their change in underwriting risk. My new insurer obviously won't cover it because it happened before I moved to them.

So not quite the solution and outcome you recommended.

Altho' your insurers declined to renew they should still honour their liabilities under the policy.
The damage occurred and the claim was lodged whilst they were insuring your property.
If they refuse to indemnify you, you should at least consider a complaint firstly through their complaints procedure, and if that fails to the FOS
