  • Pitfalls of owning a leasehold

    Hello

My son is interested in buying a flat which is the second storey of a two storey building.

The ground floor has two garages and an entrance, the first another flat.

If he purchases he will own the freehold of the building, and the leasehold of the first floor flat.

There is a legal lease for 125 years from 2007 clearly detailing the responibilities and liabilities of both landlord and tenant.

I'm sure he will need legal advice, but are there any questions he shld be asking at this stage, or any pitfalls which might come to haunt him.

    Thanks for any help.
