  • ex wants to sell house

[house* ] My sons girlfriend wants to sell the house she is in, made into 2 flats, but her ex is trying to stop her, as his name is still on it, he has a business that is also in both names, if he wont agree to her selling the house, can she force sale on his business
He is a bit of a con man and agreed to take his name off it, but gone back on his word,
Any idea how she stands, shes paying the mortgage on the house herself, she also thinks if she can sell it he will try someway to get some money out of it, this was her divorce settlement ,but he still has his name on it

Re: ex wants to sell gouse

could she sell one flat, and leave him the other??

although if it was hers in the divorce settlement, and she has proof of this, then I cannot see how he can stop her :tinysmile_hmm_t2:

Re: ex wants to sell house

He doesnt want to live there he has a place of his own, he just wants her not to sell, hes crafty, she thinks he has an ulterior motive, the house is supposed to be her divorce settlement but he wont take his name off the mortgage even though shes paying it, she doesnt have a lot left to pay really, but she doesnt want the hassle of letting the other flat, it is let, but the tenant is on agency work, and doesnt always have the rent on time, so shes struggling with the mortgage payments, hes just being awkward
He can stop her because it is in both names still, it was a very complicated divorce, because he had other properties but got into debt so they were reposessed by the bank, this house isnt worth a lot, but the equity would pay for a small flat for her,
Just wondered if she could force him to agree ,as she has her name on his business, but has nothing to do with it, but she could probably say she wantd to sell that too, very complicated
