When i opened my business I took out a loan from NatWest secured against my house. The business has now been wound up but I did not/could not keep up repayments and now they are looking at getting their money back.

Our main mortgage is with GE Money and we are up to date just slightly ahead by a month and have been for over a year now. We have around £50,000 left on this mortgage. My wife is working full time as a covering teacher and I have been working for the last two months at Amazon which may last until next week or as long as i am able to work and they are OK with it. I am looking for more permanent employment but at 54 it is not that easy even though I have outlasted about 200 people who started at the same time as me and were at least 25 years younger with better knees than mine.

How can I rectify the situation - could we get a re-mortgage or should we get a re-mortgage? I could offer to pay the months repayments on the second mortgage as i am not working for Amazon but a recruitment company who have lots of temporary jobs so I should be able to dom other work if/when my Amazon job is done.

I do suffer very badly in stressful situations from depression as my earlier posts indicate and I have attempted suicide before now over less money than this which is around £37,000. So I need advice to keep our house and hope so I don't fall apart.
