I am relieved to have been told by London-based legal charity, LawWorks, today, that they have put my request for legal help 'to the top of the pile'.

This is because my letting agents have applied for a court order to evict me within a matter of weeks.

I will be making a repair claim, and hopefully, raising other issues.

I learnt of LawWorks through this forum.

I will be posting any significant events.

In particular, I hope to raise the bar of standard of care for private tenants through the particular counter-claim I bring.

I am now receiving legal help from Shelter
LawWorks were not able to help for four weeks, whereas Shelter were able to help in under two.

So I'm going with Shelter.

Thankyou, springerspaniel, for your encouragement, and of course, advising me to write to Stephen Gilbert, MP. Stephen is now a Facebook friend and was responsive to my recent comment that the unfairness in this sector must end. He has also now said he will be sending me an outline of the difficulties he has faced in bringing a fairer housing system, including, but not limited to, attempts at changing the laws regulating this area - our recent correspondence is here

Now preparing evidence for meeting with Shelter on Thursday, 23rd August 2012 (2 days)
Mainly, I am listing all e-mails sent to letting agent, and responses (which will be around 80% ignored, I believe) received in return.
Letting agent has serially ignored complaint of disrepair, with request for compensation, as well as just about all other correspondence, since Dec 2010.
