  • Problem with deeds

Ive been trying to buy a house since april having vacated my previous house. Everything seemed to be going ok then out of the blue my solicitor said there was an issue with the deeds in that they showed access rights over what would be my garden for the neighbours.
After a lot of to ing and fro ing between the sets of solictors and the vendor it transpired this is not the case and the vendors solictors have written to the land registry to get it corrected.

what i am asking is does anyone know how long this might take ? I am in a temp flat with my possessions in storage costing £200 per month, id expected to be in the house months ago. My solictor says he doesnt know , im suprised he cant give an estimate, and of course the agent wont tell me as he is working for the vendor. I dont know if id be better just to try and find another house!

Your solicitor should be able to tell you:-
*What exactly has been agreed to resolve this matter
*What the Land Registry is being asked to do
*How long he or she thinks the LR will take to act on this.
Why not ask your solicitor for copies of the correspondence on the subject ie the letters the lawyers have exchanged. If you're still unhappy, speak to the Sellers or their Agents and say you feel like pulling out because of the delays. This often galvanises the professionals into action!

Have you spoken to Land Registry?

When we had dealings with them we found them really helpful and they spoke basic english, the advice was clear and concise.

Please accept their website, cant hurt to contact them yourself
