  • GE MONEY Mortgage abroad

Not sure exactly where to put this, but here goes.
in 2003 when still happily married my now ex husband and myself bought a holiday home in florida, which we put down around £30000 deposit and the rest for on a mortgage with GE MONEY. We have since divorced and the house in florida has devalued so around half the amount that we paid for it. over the last 2 years we have had several offers for the house, all of which we would have had to do a short sale on the property. the problem we have is that GE Money will not accept a short sale. I have been trying to find out, just how long they will keep this up, because each month they are adding interest and a penalty because we are behind on payments. I have not worked for the last three years due to a disability. They have said they have not agreed to the short sale because we have not sent all the information that they asked for, which is not true, they have not liked the information they have asked for and so ignored it.
any ideas on where i go from here.
I have a stress related illness, which is not being helped at all by all the stress from this company. I still get phone calls every two weeks to ask what is happening, i tell them the same thing every time.

have sent for SAR and now received a large envelope of papers, but there is only 3 letters from me to them, when I know I have sent many more than 3. Should they have sent me copies of letter they have received from me. As I want to see if they have received some information that they say they have not had, but I KNOW that I sent it.

        Hi.
Do you have copies of the missing letters?
Were they sent recorded delivery to GE?
If you say they have had more letters and they say they haven't, have they taken any action with your file in relation to anything that you wrote in the missing letters?, see if any action matches any dates you sent a letter and prove they are lying, they may be lying because they may have an alternative buyer waiting to get your house!

Yes, I still have the letters, and no they have not taken any action. The letters are all to do with asking them to accept a short sale, as I have had buyers for the house. They have never acknowledged then letters.
I have spoken to them on the phone and they say they have no record on file for this account before 2009, but I the mortgage in May 2003. Shortly after this in October 2003 I received a standard letter from them "Notice of assignment, sale or transfer of servicing rights" and the company were then known by a different name. Did they need to send me anything else with this letter?

Also I have notice that they have changed my account number by one digit, could all my other information be under the first account number, although they have still got my correct address.

Did you put the account number you have on record on the SAR? If not send a new SAR with the account number you have on the original letters from the mortgage company and see if they send you the same file or a different one.
