  • Neighbours taken my garage

    Hi

My next door neighbour but one has taken ownership of my garage. the previous neighbour used it but went abroad in 2021 and I have no contact details. He used it without permission while I was ill I don't know how long for. The council moved these tenants in 2 doors down and they were given the key fob and are refusing to give it back. I brought my property in 2013. The council have put it in writing that the garage is mine but won't make them give me back the key fob. Costed me £5000 so far in soliciters fees going baxk and forth with the council. now he wants me to take it to court as the council are basically not answering any questions aimed at them and not helping. I need the garage back to safely keep my car and because I want to turn it into a storage space as im trying to start a family. I want to sell it in a few years and will be unable to with all this going on. It is outlined as mine in the title deeds. Now im going to have to bankrupt myself taking it to court and I'm having to put a holt on starting a family as I won't be able to afford to do so with all the costs. Please help and advise. Anyone been through anything similar? Are the council bluffing or will they fight in court even though they said it's mine. It's causing me so much stress I can't sleep or eat
