Mortgage tied to endowment policy..

Hi, not sure whether this is the right forum? However quite a simple question really.

Quite some time ago, the policy I had with my mortgage matured and the company paid me out, twice LoL...

Anyway, they have asked me to pay them back, I'm not in a big hurry to do this but what is my legal position? Am I legally obliged to pay them back?

Would appreciate any feedback thanks...
