  • Being blocked access to my driveway for 18 months

Im not to sure where to post this particular issue but im desperate for some assistance or advice regarding my problem so to try and cut a very long story short, I purchased my first home 7 years ago, the property has a driveway with a dropped kerb. The property I have purchased opens out on to a car park which is now owned by a housing association and has been since 2002 I believe. The driveway was here prior to 2002 (I’ve referred to google maps to see this). Now the housing association are developing this particular area to build housing and flats.. at no point in the planning did they inform us of how it would affect us. I have now been told I can’t use my driveway for 18 months as they are using the car parking area as there’s, for there base essentially. Now I have contacted the director of this and he has informed me that I have no legal right to use the driveway, and they will grant me legal rights on completion of there development? I’ve never heard of such things? It also requires huge imposing hoarding which again was never disclosed we would have to deal with it for such a long time. I have been reasonable and asked for an alternative place ti park my car, using one of there spare garages but since that request they have began ignoring me and have started the work regardless. There is a lot to this, the housing association have basically said that I should of been informed when buying the house that this driveway was basically there’s and I could be denied access at any point.. and my conveyancing should of told me this when buying the house.. I have actually been in contact with the solicitor who helped us buy the house and even there unsure of what is going on and agreed it’s wrong. I’m hoping someone could help shed some light or point me in the right direction on what I can do next.
    thanks in advance

I am sure some people who are experts in this area will be along to help but the deeds and who owns what are obviously key. What do they say about the driveway? Is it part of your land or owned by someone else?
