Good morning guys!
A few days ago prior to a house move the removal truck slid down my driveway into my house causing some damage to doors/window but nothing structural luckily. Probably £2000 worth of repairs.
They was loading for a few hours but the weather was very bad with rain and where my drive is on a slope I believe the combination of van loading, And very slippy driveway (lots of moss covers the drive so is slippy) it started to slide and then roll back into the house. A removals agent did have to go by ambulance to hospital for his injuries as was knocked over but I exchanged details with the boss who come to site after it happened. They do have public liability insurance so will this cover the damage to my home and should I worry about the mossy drive causing this and be at fault myself?
Worth noting their truck was checked by firebrigage and recovery truck and it wasn't a issue with handbrake as this still functioned fully and was locked so the conclusion was the weather and surface caused the roll back. Drive is on around a 40° slope.
maybe they shouldn't be loading so steep!
Do I now just let my home insurers speak with their company insurers and would it be their vehicle insurance or public liability, with one of their staff hospitalised its hard to get further details from their offices right now.
