  • Eviction

Hi guys I have a long question for you that I will try to keep to the point .
1 eviction notice arrived pushed through letter box not signed for dated 6th of October, and arrived giving me roughly 6 days to respond, (can confirm date)
2 panic buried head didn't know what to do
3 eviction for rent arrears 7k with all court costs
spoke to C.a.b via live chat got told you need to fill form n224? In get eviction removed or set aside (running around cand find a solicitor to give advice.
4 got new date which was on Tuesday the eviction date was 11 of November
4 was told court will provide solicitor to speak ther was no one there ,
5 went into court got totally overwhelming feeling sick couldn't speak judge found for housing association as didn't provide enough evidence. On way out housing offer (hates me wanted me out since mom died 2017) she blantly said had a bad feeling about her!
6 so I gave up couldn't get any were didn't want confronted with bailiffs so with couple of friends of the proseeding few days left I got out what I could take left bed wardrobe printer desk etc had no choice
7 went back down to gey stuff from outside letter on door with number to ring (have copy) to ring if wanted stuff back so sister rang wouldn't talk to her so I rang made an appointment for the Wednesday housing officer coming to let me in , instead there two trucks outside emptying the place wouldn't let us pretend to call office wouldn't stop removing goods (letter said auction but they said to tip )
so agnry upset officer never turned up so couldn't go in these guys said they had two houses to clear out in stone Staffordshire, they were half way through one and got told to priotise doing mine (yes I'm gussing vindictive)
I do have picture of letter etc and dates
So no homeless I should point out some of rent arrears are from being of work with heart attack for long time 6/7 months .
8 so can I get compensation for the goods they have disspossed of and removed please were do I find a solicitor or can I doit myself
    thanks

What you could do, is lodge a formal complaint with the Housing Association. Explain what's happened as you have above, include all the main points, no solicitor, etc. If the matter isn't resolved satisfactorily, you get a final response / deadlock letter. Then make a Complaint to the LGO.

    https://www.lgo.org.uk/

What I don't understand is why it reached that stage. You would be a 'Vulnerable Person' because of your health conditions.

Did the Housing Officer know about your health conditions? If she did, but carried on, you need to mention that too.

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/de...re-vulnerable/

I think you need to book an appointment with your local CAB and get them to help you with this.

islandgirl Can you please take a look and advise, many thanks.

I agree with Echat. Lodge a complaint. The eviction, if there were 7k of arrears is obviously not a surprise. However if there was a health issue I would have expected the HA to work with you (and the benefits agency) if they knew. Clearly if you had an appointment to collect your things the items should not have been taken prior to this. Can you prove what was there?

Hi its been a while since I updated the post I followed the above advise that was given I got a friend to type a email I also sent hard copy recored delivery.
please bear in mind I'm still homeless and my post takes a while to catch up with me, that said I got a reply prior to xmass saying they would resolve everything by 26 1st 22
So nothing happened but I had a letter the other day no date (nothing new) saying this lady was delivery with the case and required more time she also stated she had tried to get in touch to my knowledge that's not correct
          either.
          Snow I'm waiting
          Thanks
