I am builidng a rear extension. My neighbours have a leylandii hedge running along their boundary line. The prescence of this hedge means that we are not able to use strip foundations but require piled foundations at a considerably higher cost.
The building inspector has also requetsed a structural engineers reprot due to the proximity of the hedge.
Is there any liability for the neighbours for the additional cost over and above a regular trench foundation as it is their hedge that is causing the need to pay more for the piled foundations?
Thank you in advance.
