  • Access Rights dispute

I live I a cul-de-sac where on the left side of the road the access to our garages is by alleyways from either end of the 14 houses.

I have checked a copy of my deeds that state that the alleyway at the side of my house is for access to the garages by houses on my side of the road.

I have lived here for 25 years and not had any issues until about 8 months ago, when someone who lives in the road behind me started being verbally abusive to me about me parking outside my house and making it difficult for him to use the alleyway.

Police became involved and although he is now banned from approaching my property he has taken to sending deliveries up the alleyway.

He insists he has right of access, my deeds say not.

What can I do? The access rights are owned by 14 houses.

It is worth saying I have felt the need to have security cameras installed which cover my car out the front and the alleyway.

This person is verbally abusive to me when im in my back garden and he is walking down the alleyway .

And now the weather is getting better I would like to be able to use the garden, without fear.

I have a sign to put up on my fence on the alleyway side saying Private land, no public access and right of way, but am worrying about recriminations.

      Hello

Not sure you've explained your issue properly. I read your post as saying your deeds state there is a right of way to the garages but then when you say the neighbour claims access then you seem to suggest your deeds don't say that, which is it?
