  • Dumping of whitegoods on communal land.

In this block of eight households there is neighbour who has caused several problems for the rest of us over the years. Back in November he undertook a major renovation of his flat. To be fair, all waste was removed by tradesmen but a few days later a tall fridge/freezer appeared out by the bins in the car park to the rear. To date it is still there.

My local council uplifts whitegoods on a booking basis and I'm pretty sure that there have been several windows for collection since the item was deposited out the back. With this to mind I am going to approach this difficult neighbour and enquire as to his intentions to remove the fridge but I wonder if there's anything legal I can throw at him. I'm going to wait until month end and email all households about item, which might have no effect as he ignores any correspondence that implicates him in any issue.

Prior to any legal action (prosecution for fly tipping ??) you would have to prove he put it there.
I don't know your circumstances, if you own the flat or if rented but I had a similar problem years ago.
I owned the flat leasehold and I contacted the management company the freeholder used for maintenance. They took care of it, I believe they moved the rubbish (it was an old bathroom suite in my case) and billed him.
If you rent you can let your landlord take similar action.

That's a very good point in your first para; he's the type of fella who would deny it's his.

We are all homeowner in this block and there is no factor or facilities management firm covering the building. Will report back at month end.
