  • Hello. My bank is refusing mortgage payments

    Hi.
I live in the USA, but own a house (on mortgage) in South Wales.
Without going into huge details on the Welcome board, I have a situation where I'm in arrears, but the bank is refusing my payments. I've sent them a letter asking what I can do to fix it when they keep returning my payments, but I need to know what the next steps are. I don't want to lose this investment.

I am disappointed to hear nothing in reply to this...
My ex-partner suggested you because of the underhanded tactics that Halifax are using to try to steal my house from me... What can I do? Who should I talk to?

Hiya, Sorry your post was missed - I'll move you to the housing forum.

Have Halifax given any reason at all as to why they are refusing to accept payments towards your mortgage ? Are you sending them through a US Bank ? Are they just being returned as not accepted maybe due to £/$ rates etc or have they said you aren't allowed to pay your mortgage atm ?
Have you always paid your mortgage from the USA?

Do you have an agreement with Halifax with regards paying up the arrears ?
