  • Old charge on deeds

My in-laws have an old charge on the charge register on their title deeds. They bought their house in 1991 after the owners of the estate it was part of died. A charge was put on the register in the names of the 2 executors of the estate as the agreement between the parties involved was that if my in-laws sold the house within 10 years they would owe the vendors a further £4000. My question is who were the vendors? The 2 individuals named on the charge would not have been the beneficeries of the £4000 had my in-laws sold within those 10 years, the estate owners heirs would have been. We need to find who dealt with the will/probate but whose will/probate? The people named on the charge or the deceased owners of the estate?
    Any help would be appreciated.
