Neighbours put vandal paint on 5ft garden fence near kids

Hi all just wanted some advice - my neighbour has put vandal paint all along my side of his fence for no reason other then mallious. 10 panels total.

Legally - as he won't listen to reason, what are my options? I read somewhere that it is illegal as it's under 6ft?

The children - aged 4 & 3 play in the garden and there has been no issues with the fence before.

He did get a police fine & council warning for wasting police time over other things which makes me think about motivation for the vandal paint.

Thanks in advance as I just want the paint removing.

So how did he get to that side of the fence? By trespassing on your property?
