  • Responding to a court order to provide further information

Please can someone advise the correct way of responding to a county court order to provide further information, following receipt of form N24 General Form of Judgment or Order in relation to a Statement of Case.

Is it acceptable to just send a letter to the court titled RESPONSE TO N24 or is there a special form or another way this response should be made?

    Many thanks.

    What does the Order say?

      "IT IS ORDERED THAT:-

      1. The claimant must explain how he has a claim when the agreement attached to the claim form shows ....."

You could do it in the form of an additional particulars of claim, then in capitals just below the claimant/defendant information in capitals state that the additional particulars are in response to an Order made on [DATE].

Something like the below might suffice changing the court name to the one its being heard at and attach a covering letter/email to that effect.

Number your paragraphs so it is easier to read.

Re: Responding to a court order to provide further information

Is it a request made under Part 18 CPR? If it is, then you would have received a letter or document before this application which says, clearly, this request is made pursuant to Part 18 CPR and is a request for further information.

If that's the case, your reply needs to be in a particular format otherwise it will not comply.

Oh, and a statement of truth (Part 22 CPR).

At the end, put "I believe that the facts stated in these particulars are true", then sign and date it, if your reply is as per R0b and the document you are replying to is NOT a Part 18 CPR request for further information.
