Small claim for loss caused by damage to my credit file.

A leisure center issued a CCJ against me in 2012. I have only recently become aware of this and have written to them on three occasions with my side of the story. They will not remove the CCJ when clearly they are at fault.
My question is, can I claim in the small claims court for losses caused by damage to my credit file?

With a CCJ you would need to have the Judgement over turned to have it removed from the credit file, as a CCJ is set by the court ( in default of you defending) and not just a report by the creditor/gym.

Can you tell us a bit more of the background ?

To overturn the CCJ you would have to file to 'set aside' which means you tell the court why you didn't resond to original claim and that you have a good defence to the claim,. and the court has a hearing to decide whether you should be allowed opportunity to defend.... the the case restarts and the CCJ comes off your file ( then you settle or go on to win against the claimant )
