  • Stupid!

First of all I would like to say that I'm really embarrassed for what I did! With that been said here's the story. I was walking home after a party very very drunk and I walked next to a truck that was unloading his goods an at that minute at time I thought it be ha funny story to tell to my friends not thinking of the real consequences! So there was a pellet with stuff on it like cornflakes and cookies and stuf no body around so I took a box but I got caught I feel so stupid! they got the police involved but as they didn't have prove at that time they took me to the police station for an interview saying that they are waiting on cctv records from across the road I'm wondering what is waiting for me I've never been in touch with the police 26 male dutch

    Hi welcome to LB.

I suspect if the CCTV was working at the time of the incident and you are clearly identified taking the box the most likely outcome is a police caution I doubt the police will put this forward for any more punitive action.

That's no a long time for police to obtain CCT evidence and review it the investigating officer no doubt will have had day (s) off or busy on more serious matters.

Were you issued with any " paperwork" at the time? "Were you cautioned i.e. That you have the right to remain silent but it may harm your defence if you withhold now something that you later rely on it court"?

Ok let's get the story straight.

            1. You took a box of cereal from a pallet on the street?

            2. Were you arrested at that point?

            3. Questioned under caution at the roadside or at a police station?

            4. What did say in your statement?

            5. Are you currently on police bail?

              Re: Stupid!

If you weren't released on police bail I would doubt if anything will come of this.

In these cases more often than not a senior police officer cautions you but for that you need to admit your guilt.

If you are arrested you have a right to free legal representation at that point and if that happens again you should ask to see the duty solicitor
