  • British Telecom Basic package and discrimination

I will give a brief explanation.

I moved from England to Northern Ireland six months ago. Due to an industrial injury i am claiming Employment and suport Allowance and no longer have to supply GP notes. Having the claim transfered over to Northern Ireland under the reciprocal agreement was a nightmare but now up and running.

Having been told about the BT Basic package, BT have put up every obstacle imaginable to persaude me that it is not in my best interest. Anyway i finally get the application form last week and sent it off. I get a letter today saying they have contacted the DWP and i am not claiming ESA.

In a sense that is correct as i am not claiming ESA under the DWP.
I am claiming ESA under the Department for Social development

NORTHERN IRELAND DOES NOT RECOGNISE THE GOVERNMENTS WELFARE REFORMS

We still have the Department of Social Security

I have a Belfast Address so why are BT sending off for confirmation of my entitlement to the DWP as my claim with them closed down on the 19th May. A new claim for ESA opened up the same day for through the Department of Social Security?

Havng just phoned the BT Basic department she said another team makes those decisions and she will send an email as they are not customer facing.

I am 100% convienced they are doing this deliberatly and i wish to take action further as this i consider it to be indirect disability discrimination for corporate penny pinching

    Rant over.
