  • Finding a Mckenzie Friend in Scotland

    Hi -

Out of financial necessity I'm (reluctantly) having to defend myself DIY fashion in the Inverness Sheriff Court. I'm totally unfamiliar with the court environment and could use some hand-holding in the form of a Mckenzie Friend, also known as a Lay Representative. Anyone help in case prep or even court appearance? Heard in Autumn.

Just giving this a bump for you and hopefully someone with the right 'smarts' will advise soon.:bump:

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!

        Hi Amethyst -

In the course of a neigbour dispute over what I saw as their lax attitude to the security of a tenement flat, I lost my temper and swore at two Spanish nationals who had me arrested and charged with a Section 38 offence with racial aggravation. I've been thwarted by the narrow-mindedness of the local support community, who seem disconnected from the concept of aiding a self-represented defendant. I'm fresh into the area and don't know my way around, having lived in Yorkshire all my working life.
        Can you help?
