Re: My daughers wedding nightmare. Please advise.
Dear Sir/Madam,
RE wedding a & b on someday xxth month 2015
As you are aware we had a meeting on xxxx between yourself, marquee contractor and ourselves at which time it was agreed that the marquee would be constructed on xxx and removed on xxxx. At this point there was no mention of any special requirements for construction or removal other than you wanted Monday off and for removal on the Tuesday.
During a phone call on xxx you pointed out that we could not erect the marquee we ordered as the ground was protected and we could not "dig". We spent £2000 to keep you happy with this late and new condition.
Since then, on xxx, you have asked us to remove the marquee earlier as you have booked another event. We have tried to accommodate you but you do not want us early on Sunday and in that event we would have to remove the decor from inside after the wedding before the marquee company arrived in the morning anyway.
I write to advise you that we will be sticking to the agreed timetable and will be removing the marquee as planned on Tuesday xxx. To avoid damage and losses i ask that you do not attempt to remove anything yourself.
I also note that any further losses occurred due to your unreasonable behaviour will be claimed from yourselves and that if the marriage licence had been transferable we would have moved to another venue and held yourselves liable for any costs.
It is regrettable that you have soured the wedding preparations in this manner and we would ask that you desist so that there can be less stress ahead of what should have been a wonderful occasion.
Yours etc
Play hardball now as being nice/soft isn't working.
