  • Correspondence rules

    Hi,

    Another point in my case.

The defendant ( a used car dealership ) is using an online legal advice firm to correspond with me. However, he has put himself as the defendant on the allocation questionnaire. I am representing myself.

Basically, at the moment I am writing to him, he is passing it on to the internet firm, they are writing to me with his response.

Here's the weirdest bit. They've written to me offering to settle and marked the letter WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Why would they do that? They are the defendants.

it's weird. Is that allowed? I am in the process of drafting a letter saying I will be ignoring all correspondence if it is not from him.

    Any advice on this?

    Re: Correspondence rules

It is so that the letter cannot be presented to the court as a firm offer. If the offer is acceptable then take it. If not then go back with what you consider an acceptable offer. Looks like they are willing to come to some sort of agreement.

He is the defendant and he is using legal assistance, as is his right. You might find it awkward if you refuse to correspond with his legal representative.
