Is it lawful to have 2 ccj's for one debt? If not, how can I remove one of them?

Re: Duplicate CCJ's
Had a dispute with a landlord (long story). He instigated a ccj in one court for one amount then another in a different court 2 months later with a lesser amount but for the same debt. I refused to pay either and when he tried to get a charging order he lost and they have been sat there since. We were going to counter sue but it was an awful time so we left it. In hindsight we should have fought the ccj's but we just wanted to sever all ties. I've been looking into this and have seen somewhere online that it isn't lawful to do that. I want to remove one if I can if this is correct.
