I live in a small council estate with my family for around 20 years. I recently contacted their housing department with regards to problems residents have been experiencing with regards to parking in the small resident's parking area. I also highlighted the fact that this area is totally unlit and is quite dangerous at night time as you just can't see where you are walking. I also asked them to kindly remove a large, empty skip they had positioned there as it was taking up a valuable car space and was dark green in colour making it very hard to see late at night - I had almost hit it several times.
They initially responded to me around two months ago and have since then ignored all my emails. This is quite common of this department so I hear.
I do not think this is an acceptable way to treat tenants.
Can any one tell me how I can take things further? I was thinking of initially obtaining a FOI request to see what their requirement is for the time period inwhich they should respond to queries from people. I was then also going to put one in to see how many queries are still un-resolved between the dates I had initially contacted them.
Can anyone give me some advice?
