  • help with a mortgage

Hi, I have a friend who was in a relationship for more than 2 years, they got a ,mortgage together, then split up, the bloke still lives in the mortgaged property, he has for a further 2 years paid some mortgage, had the government pay the mortgage (or part of), then got a job then was made redundant.
The Girl whilst living with him, they got into debt, and the property moved into negative equity, she went Bankrupt (which would be 6 years ago next Feb).
The Bloke in question after being made redundant has told the girl that he intends to go abroad and work, she is worried that if he disappears, as the original mortgage agreement was either or, the mortgage company will chase her for the monies owed, which were run up by the bloke.
Is there any way she can protect her self, or legally get herself removed from the mortgage contract, as he will not play ball.

As soon as the bankruptcy is declared, all your assets will become the possession of your Trustee in Bankruptcy. They have the authority to sell them in order to pay some of your debts, and this can be done without your consent. You may lose high value assets such as jewellery, shares and any interest you have in your property.

The way I read this, her interest in the property should have been dealt with at the time of her bankruptcy?
