Thanks for reading.
I was in an abusive relationship for 4 years - repeated cheating, lying, slapping, punching, kicking, gas-lighting and coercive control. With support from DV services, I found the courage to end the relationship and my ex (M) went absolutely banana's - full on histrionics, manipulative behaviour such as screaming, hysterical crying, self harm (which was awful) - slapping and scratching his face, pulling his hair etc. He has previous convictions for DV and non-mol orders on a string of other women.
When I ended the relationship, the above tactics were used and then eventually he left my flat and I thought he'd gone for a walk or to see someone to calm down and get some support. 30 mins after he left, two police officers arrived and arrested me for an alleged s47 assault. I was in shock and can't remember whether I mentioned in my police interview that he's previously done the same thing to another woman - accused her of assaulting him when it was actually the husband of a married woman he was having an affair with - but that is the least of my worries now. A week later, he received an email and an FB message and is asserting that these were sent by me under another name - they weren't. So I was arrested again for harassment. I hadn't done any of these things and have a clean record. I am livid that the police don't seem to be taking on board his manipulative, deceitful and narcissistic behaviour and a solicitor has said that they can send a file for consideration by the police in advance of any potential charge being brought or the case passed to the CPS known as a pre charge consideration. Has anyone used this type of service please? It would be £6000. I am in a responsible role where I will be dismissed and am seriously considering using this service. Any experiences here?
