Just thought I should ask this, but do you have to put a sign up outside if you have a camera door bell? Is it a criminal offence? Just want to be safe with this. Thanks.

Als, if you had CCTV cameras that did not impose on other members of the public like your own back garden. For your own securety obviously.

Well this is a grey area to some that I thought you could clear up. Processing of data and collecting of data. If you are only viewing it for personal reasons then you are not proceesing it. as this article states. If you make use of the data and strore it and share it with other people or post it on the internet then you are processing it. If it is for your personal use only then it is okay.

I had a talk with the ICO over recording phone calls with companies I have a dispute with without there knowledge and permission. I was told as you are an efected party you have a right to do this without them knowing.
it and I was also told that the DPA was to protect you from companies not the other way around.

I was told that if a company records the call, they MUST inform you because...
      a) The call center person is not related to you or your case personaly and
      b) This inforamtion could be shared around the company also by people who are no conected to you or your case personaly. Even a cleaner in the company could overhear it.

If you had to display a sign on your door then all cars with dash cams would also have to display a sign. A CCTV camera in your back garden is also ok.
