I understand that after 20 years of "uninterrupted use" that a member of the public can apply for a path to be added to the Definitive Map.
I have kept putting fences up preventing access. But they keep getting cut. I have photographs over the years of these fences in tact.
How long after an interruption can someone apply to the local authority for a route to be added to the Definitive Map?
I.E Can some say in 2024 that they used a route "uninterrupted" between 1998-2018 (20 years). Does the fact that the route has been blocked up between 2018-2024 matter?
I have tried seeking out the answer to my question. But to no avail.
Look forward to some enlightenment.
