  • Complaint against other party’s solicitor?

Hi, my elderly father is dealing with an unpleasant boundary dispute with aggressive next door neighbours who moved in 1 year ago. Their solicitor seems to be a thoroughly nasty piece of work, not to mention staggeringly incompetent. This solicitor has collected completely incorrect facts, and has sent my father a letter accusing him of lying about a fact which can be proven very easily through a public register. Although this letter borders on comedy because the facts were so readily checkable by any member of the public, and the accusation is so ridiculous, the solicitor’s words are libellous, and my father is understandably angry. Who do we report this solicitor’s misconduct, and their defamatory behaviour and manifest incompetence to?

    The Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read this: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
