  • Protestors using drone footage

At a private party on private land this weekend a group of local protestors took video footage of me and my family using a drone. Police were in attendance as we had been subject to threatening behaviour earlier on in the day from said protestors. For approx 25 mins the drone flew low over our party but on speaking to the two officers, we were told that they couldn’t be stopped as the protesters were standing on the public highway from where they were controlling the drone. What are my rights, as a parent to prevent this from happening as regards the filming of my children? I am quite convinced that if the drone users were filming a school playground from the road, they would have been stopped.

    Hi STARLIGHT74

    Welcome to LB

There is actually a code that needs to be followed when using drones in the UK.

    https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code

    https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/dr...tection%20laws.

Also The Protection from Harassment Act 1997 may apply as that seems to be what you are saying.
