  • Enforcing a Judgement in the UK?

    Hi,

I am trying to recall what is the minimum amount necessary in a Small Claims judgement for it to be enforced in a more severe way?

I mean, I recall it being over £800 to go to a bailiff, or the Crown Court, something like that?

    Thanks.

£600 to go to a High Court Enforcement Officer.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read this: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Could you tell me the difference? I assume the High court os more severe and has more avenues open to the, to get the money?

They also cost more. The issue is whether you think the person has money to go after. The amounts actually recovered overall are not substantial as a proportion of what is owed. Be careful about throwing good money after bad.
