  • Car Damage by painting firm

    Hi

I live in a block of 8 flats with a car park to the rear
last week one of the flats along from me were having some painting done
they were have the internal doors sprayed throughout the flat
anyway the next day I noticed my car was covered in little white specs of paint it’s a black cat I was horrified
on asking the flat owner he confirmed the firm was intact working in his flat spraying the doors
I showed him to the damage to my car he was gutted for me he then told me the painter had sprayed the paint gun out of the windows whilst cleaning it through
I have contacted the firm involved who the boss is away til Friday He will speak to me then
I have had a firm look at it & a probe of £450 is the cost of the removal of the paint
where do I stand with this please I’ve got lots of photos & im sure the flat owner will provide me with a written statement of what happened
thanks in advance for any help

The flat owner is going to be surprised if the paint firm don't cough up, because he is liable to you and you will be asking him to foot the bill!

He employed the painters who are his agents. He is the principal and liable for the actions of his agents!
