  • Corporate bodies and offences

    Hi,

I believe an ltd company and a local authority are both corporate bodies so a "person" in the eyes of the law. Is that also true for criminal offences such as harassment? When the offence act says person can that mean a corporate body?

OK, so most times it will be one person in company or LA that would be the harasser, and then the harassment charge could be made against that individual. But what if it was more than one? PHA 1997 requires a course of action meaning 2 or more events. If more than one person took a turn at harassment then the PHA wouldn't be triggered. Or what if the direct harasser what acting on instructions (of some unknown boss)?

    Thanks
