I hired Solicitor 1 to deal with a claim for an RTA. Things turned sour between us and they dismissed me, (not my fault), before offer was made, basically all they did was to arrange a specialist to check me over. I hired Solicitor 2. Claim has now been finalised.*
PROBLEM now is Sol2 will not release my money until Sol1 has been payed....in full ! Sol2 tells me he has checked his position with the Law Society who endorse his position. I think Sol2 is "lying" or "looking after his own". I am about to make a complaint with the Legal Ombudsman but to be honest I do not know if he, Sol2, can legally do this. There is no agreement between us for Sol2 to do this !
Can Sol2 do this ?
