I have got a problem in that I cannot get legal representation to take a case to court so I am looking for creative alternatives like representing myself or getting help from paralegals. It is really leads I am looking for.
My case is in the fields of Human Rights, Civil Liberties and Judicial review or even crime (against my family, with children, and I). It is against a British institution (but not the police).
I have collected all the evidence and have engaged a specialist barrister to establish and prepare the case. Now all I have to do is to take it to court but these are the problems I have:
- The barristers tell me they want me to hire them through solicitors when I want to hire them through direct access.
- Solicitors who do not work with Legal Aid quote me £100K-£150K for the process. No way I can pay that.
- Solicitors that are registered with Legal Aid do not wish to give me access to apply for Legal Aid through them.
So I am stuck, I need paralegals, a lead to barrister or somebody who agrees to work with me, I do not know. As it involves my small children, I wonder if this can be used as leverage for any particular way to do this. I have already tried all those people Liberty, Coram, Amnesty, etc. They will not help individuals unless you know one that does take individual cases.
Thank you
