  • Police failed to take action - how to best complain

    Hi,

I was ran over by a reckless driver last year. By freak chance I got away with some broken bones but otherwise fine. The driver went straight for me, accelerating constantly, hit me, and kept accelerating away. He came back later to identify himself and to admit he's a diabetic and lost his licence previously due to this condition.

The police after not even taking my statement ended up getting him on a "driving test" and if he completes that there will be no consequences from him (beside me suing him). Pretty sure they didn't even check if he measured his blood sugar before driving.

As you might expect I'm not very happy with the outcome. I want to reach out to the police/council/etc and ensure this gets revised and get the madman off the street. Any advise on how to proceed?

    Thanks,
    Ben

For a complaint against the police the details will be on their website. You can report the person to the DVLA - https://live.email-dvla.service.gov....vers%20medical

Did the police just issue a fixed penalty notice ?
