Have been in touch with a charity 'North Derbyshire Women's Aid' who offer a 12 week support programme. If I can work out transport etc I will attend and hopefully bring something more to this forum.

They also offer courses for men.
The aims of the course;
To help women understand the beliefs held by abusive men, and in doing so recognise which of these beliefs they have shared.
To help women gain self esteem and the comfidence to imporve the quality of their lives.
To show the effects of domestic abuse on children.
To help women to recognise potential future abusers.
To introduce women to community resources such as the polices domestic abuse unit, and Womens Aid.
