  • Securing time with daughter

I'm in the army and based in London. my ex and my daughter live near Preston, I live in the same town with my new partner and her daughter and my parents live in the same town also.
currently the arrangement is every other weekend I get to see my daughter but if I'm at work (as is often the case) then thats tough. The ex won't let my partner or my parents see my daughter in my absence. There's no good reason for this, just malice.
We are approaching our final hearing in court and I'm proposing that we go firm and establish a set routine of every other week but if I'm not there, daughter can still come to our house or to grandparents. The ex isn't buying it. She is still set on 'if you aren't there then tough'. I have attempted to compromise by suggesting swapping conflicted weekends, or by replacing weekends with weekdays (Monday, Tuesday eg) but again, she will not compromise.
I'm concerned that the court won't see the benefit of my plan. Any advice? Should I just knuckle under and give in to her idea?

Sorry I cannot offer you any legal advise, but from the outside under the circumstances that you propose is not unreasonable & I would like to think the court would take your service into account, assuming that your daughter is also in agreement. On a personal note I thank you for your service.
Sorry i'm just thinking out loud, it might be irrelevant, I am not employed in anyway in the legal profession, please ensure you research any advice I give before using it I have been known to be wrong on multiple occasions.
