  • How can I have my ex wife removed from my Mortgage?

I am sure this a common problem but I am really stuck. Can anyone help / advise. This is the situation...

I am a 62yr old man (semi retired). In 1995 I took out a joint Mortgage with my now ex-wife.
In March 2010 My now ex-wife was declared Bankrupt and in Sept 2010, I legally bought her share of the property from the Official Receiver. I now own the entire property All my ex-wife's liabilities were written off at her Bankruptcy.
I divorced her in November 2010. She moved out and I have had no contact or financial attachment whatsoever sine. I simply do not know even if she is alive!
Following a check of my Credit file I see that the Lloyds Banking Group has placed a "Financial Association" on my Credit file and because of her bankruptcyy , my credit rating is being affected.

It transpires that this has only recently been added, (some 5 years since we divorced and she left), so I am not sure why it has been added now. In these circumstances, is there anyway I can get her name removed from the Mortgage. The Cheltenham & Gloucester have been extremely unhelpful and have said I need to get her to sign a release. How can I when I do not even know if she is alive? Alos can I demand this link is removed from my credit file? Any help is much appreciated .
