  • Mediation proposal

I was wondering if anybody can help me with the following proposal that I intend to make during mediation.

Our situation that it is a short marriage and it is likely that we will go into mediation soon - no children.

During the mediation I intend to suggest that the property has to be split 50/50 on the equity. Although we are not on speaking terms I still care about her and I don't really want to put her in a position to sell the house and one of the ideas I have is the following:

Intially gain agreement that I have 50% stake. Then for her pay me monthly rent (a modest amount, which I will be very flexible), her paying the mortgage, and have a yearly review for a long time (say 15 years) on the future property such as weather a property should be sold or not. I also want to have the "power of sale" with a reasonable notice to sell the property during these review meetings.

Before I propose this I was wondering if anybody has any thoughts - a way to have to keep her reasonably happy and I also have a share of the property.

    Thank you.
