  • Non payment of maintenance and parental rights

Hi there. Hopefully someone can help with my query.

My childs father and I separated maybe 7 years ago. He had been in and out of work during this time. He has made sporadic child maintenance payments via a private arrangement. He always said if I reported him to the csa he would stop working and stop having contact with our child.

The csa state they cannot pursue him for unpaid maintenance. Is it worth pursuing myself via the courts?

Secondly with regards to his parental rights. His visits have been sporadic over the past 7 years also. I finally confronted him about the damage. His continual coming in and out of our child life is doing. He told me he now wants nothing to do with our child. ( in front of our child.) Is there any way I can have his parental rights revoked as if anything should happen to me. This man wants nothing to do with our child. Hes seen him maybe 10 times in the past 7 years. His financial contribution wouldn't even cover my child's therapy Bill's. There has been a prolonged history of violence and intimidation in our relationship and he has recently been in court for very heinous crimes ( also involving abuse). And I would rather he not be associated or have access to our child. If he decided to change his mind about seeing our child again. I also worry about issues with regards to holidays or possible immigration ( due to my work) as our child carries his fathers name.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
