  • Short Marriage and now Divorce. Will i lose my car?

    Hi all.

I am currently going through a Divorce with the wife (soon to be ex).

We were married for Two years (up until separation) and have no children and no assets or even a bank account together.

I currently own a car (value approx £5k) and use it to get around for work and home. Unfortunately my car is probably on it's last legs, so have decided to get a replacement car of a similar value or less.

Whenever the divorce comes to a conclusion, will i lose the car? Will i have to split anything or pay her anything?

The car is the only thing i own and am worried. I need my car to visit clients and the office.

Can someone advise on whether i will lose the car? Or will i have to sell it and give half value to the wife? Will i have to pay anything else, even though it was a short marriage?

    Any advice would be helpful.

    Thank you in advance.
